1. No account required
You do not need to register. When you use paid or AI features the app creates an anonymous guest session identified by a random token stored on your device. We do not collect your name, phone number or email unless you choose to type a display name, which is stored only on your device.
2. Location
Your GPS position is processed on your phone to show you on the map and rank nearby pandals. It is never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared. Walking routes are requested from the routing provider using the start and end coordinates only.
3. Photos you upload
Photos for “Selfie with Bappa” and the Avatar Studio are uploaded only after you tick the consent box. They are stored encrypted at rest, used solely to generate your image, and deleted automatically after 7 days. You can delete an uploaded photo immediately from the app. Generated images are kept so you can view and download them from “My Bappa Memories” and can be deleted by you at any time.
4. AI processing
To generate images, your photo is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for processing under their API data terms, which do not permit training on your data. The prompt describes the pandal setting, not your identity.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by Razorpay. Razorpay receives the information needed to complete the transaction and is governed by its own privacy policy. We store only the order id, amount, status and a reference to your guest session, so that credits can be granted and refunds processed.
6. Analytics
We record anonymous usage events (for example “map opened”, “route started”) to understand which features are used. These events contain no coordinates, photos, names or messages. Where Google Analytics is enabled, IP anonymisation is on.
7. Cookies and storage
The app uses browser storage to remember your language, avatar, saved routes and guest token, and a service worker to work offline. No advertising cookies are used.
8. Your rights
You can delete your photos and generated images from the app at any time. To request deletion of everything linked to your guest session, or to ask what we hold, email us with the session id shown on the Memories screen. We respond within 7 working days.
9. Children
The app is family-friendly. Paid features are intended for adults; a parent or guardian should make any purchase and give consent for a child’s photo.
